Learn to Make Music, Play Ukulele, and Teach Young Children Through the Power of Song!
Course Prerequisite: None
Child, Family, and Education Studies and the Southwestern Child Development Center welcomes you to this special first-ever 8 Session ECE Course for Southwestern College. This fall, you can acquire skills to build a joyful, inclusive, harmonious classroom environment with easy hands-on music—no prior experience needed. Instruments will be provided.
The class meets in person weekly for 90 minutes on Tuesday nights starting on October 7 from 6 pm-7:30 for 8 weeks. The commitment includes 30 minutes of any combination of practicing, playing music with children, and journaling.
In just 8 weeks, you can learn to be a song leader who uses music as a powerful teaching tool to support academic and social-emotional learning in any subject. Each week, your cohort will learn two new songs, and add new lyrics for language development and learning, transitions, social emotional awareness, and more.
This approach is easy for anyone. Shower singers are welcome!
