LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR IN STANDARD TUNING
Course Prerequisite: Continuing Beginner Guitar or Above
Learning to play guitar in Standard Tuning is exciting!
The class begins in Open Tuning then transitions to Standard Tuning. You should already be comfortable playing the Open G chords you learned in the Continuing Beginner Guitar, Beginner Plus Guitar, or Just Add Guitar courses. Those Open Tuning chords are simplified forms of the ones you will learn here, and your fingers will have an easy time finding new positions if you know the Open Tuning versions first.
You will learn to play in the keys of A and E. You will learn to slide chords up the neck and to incorporate some basic fingerpicking, too. Having these skills makes accompanying and interpreting songs richer and more musically exciting! Learning to play in Standard Tuning makes jamming with other guitarists much easier, too.
All classes in this series will be taught from 4-5:15pm PT / 5-6:15pm MT / 6-7:15pm CT / 7-8:15pm ET.
