CONTINUING BEGINNER GUITAR IN OPEN TUNING

Course Prerequisite: Total Beginner Guitar

To enroll in this class, please be able to tune your guitar, play OFF/ON chord positions in Open G, and be developing the ability to play Open G, Easy C and Easy D (D7) chords. This course is a natural next step for people who want more time practicing Strum & Sing basics before adding more chords and strums in Open G tuning. It’s a way to get better at what you learned in Total Beginner, and to go farther.

This course is not just a review or refresh of Total Beginner. It will give you more chord changes, strums, and you’ll add the Em chord to your repertoire. You’ll learn practical songs for your classroom teaching, utilize primary GITC song leadership techniques, and compose some simple Lyrics for Learning using familiar melodies. You’ll also get a chance to collaborate with other teachers to create songs for boosting student creativity, literacy skills, memory, and social-emotional awareness.

For anyone needing more review, we recommend taking Total Beginner Guitar a second time. We don’t mind!

All classes in this series will be taught from 4-5:15pm PT / 5-6:15pm MT / 6-7:15pm CT / 7-8:15pm ET.
