**CRASH COURSE IN UKULELE FOR BEGINNERS, IN ENGLISH. 3-WEEK WORKSHOP**
**Course Prerequisite: None**
This workshop is designed as a quick onboarding experience with GITC’s easy, developmental ukulele method. Attendance at all 3 sessions is necessary to get the hang of playing. You will learn basics for playing 2-3 chords, strumming a steady rhythm, and accompanying simple songs on ukulele. The 6-8 week version of this level will additionally teach you foundational lyric writing and song leadership skills.
This Total Beginner level is for educators with little to no musical experience, or no experience playing a ukulele. We teach in Open C tuning for ease and accessibility of playing, and we go slowly, and help you develop essential musical awareness and skills. You can re-take this level in the summer or fall if you find that at the end of 3 weeks, you want more group learning and practice.
Note: If you already play guitar or ukulele in standard tuning, this course can be immensely helpful in learning to teach the instrument to children. You’ll learn a developmental approach to successful instruction, even with children in early childhood education.
All classes in this series will be taught from 7:00 - 8:15 pm PT / 8:00 - 9:15 pm MT / 9:00 - 10:15 pm CT / 10:00 - 11:15 pm ET.
Monday April 8 @ 7:00 pm PT
Monday April 15 @ 7:00 pm PT
Monday April 22 @ 7:00 pm PT
