Restorative Practices Through Music for You and Your Student
Prerequisite Skills:
Completion of Total Beginner Uke or Total Beginner Guitar course is recommended.
OPEN TUNING
Whether you are teaching music, or leading songs for learning in your classroom, this three-session workshop will provide you with reliable musical practices and knowledge for boosting your own self-care while boosting your students’ self-awareness and self-regulation through making music. The techniques are very much needed to address the impact of Covid-19 Social Learning Loss. Both proactive (planned and intentional) and reactive (responding on the spot) interventions with singing, strumming, composing songs, and making music for calming, learning lesson content, and making transitions can make a profound difference in how you and your students feel each day!
This workshop is open to teachers, paras, specialists, and support staff of all kinds. Taking it with someone on your team can be a plus when putting what you learn into action. This is not an instrumental instruction course, and having very basic experience with ukulele or guitar as a prerequisite is recommended. However, you can also take it at the same time as taking a Total Beginner Uke workshop so you are getting both instrumental and implementation training at the same time.
All classes in this series will be taught from 7-8:15pm PT / 8-9:15pm MT / 9-10:15pm CT / 10-11:15pm ET.
Wednesday, April 10 7:00 pm Pacific
